DIY Pedicure

Looking for ways to cut back on your spending so that you can afford more shoes? Have you considered doing at home pedicures? Sandal season IS coming very soon, and the key to making a great sandal look even better is putting pretty, pampered feet inside them.

Use this blog as a resource for giving a DIY pedicure a try!

Step One:

The first step is to soak your feet in warm water. That's what they do when you go get a pedicure, right? Get yourself a package of Epsom Salts and add that to the warm water. The Epsom salts will help exfoliate your feet while they soak in the water. Soak your feet for about 10 minutes.

Step Two:

The next thing you'll want to do is exfoliate your feet more to remove any remaining dry skin and calluses. Take one foot out of the water and pat it dry with a towel. You can then use a pumice stone to remove cracks and dry skin. There are also callus shavers available at many discount stores that work well if you have thick calluses. There are also foot scrubs that you can purchase that will help with exfoliation as well. Once you're done with one foot you can put it back in the water and enjoy some more soaking, or you can leave it out while you work on the next one.

Step Three:

Next, you'll want to trim and file your nails to the desired length. By doing this after you've soaked your nails, you'll have given them time to soften so that it isn't quite as hard to clip and you'll have less nail breakage. Make sure when you're filing to only file in one direction to avoid nail splitting or damage.

Step Four:

After you've trimmed your nails, you'll want to push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher and nourish your feet with lotion. After the lotion soaks in you'll be ready to paint your toes!

Step Five:

Slip into some sandals and show off your pretty toes! Be sure to regularly moisturize your feet afterwards to get some longevity out of your pedicure!
