Throw the Perfect Football Party

Football season. The perfect opportunity to get your sport-loving family and friends together to watch the game, snack all day and have fun! Here are some simple ways to throw a fantastic football party at your home this season:

The Grub
First, put out a tablecloth in your team’s colors or buy a green one and tape or paint the yard lines on. Next, set up buffet-style dining and offer your guests a variety of hot and cold finger foods. The simplest suggestions are wings, sandwiches, different dips with chips and pretzels, pizza and chili! If you're up for a challenge and have some extra time, a football stadium made out of all sorts of snacks would be the ultimate game day platter and would score big with your guests. Place beer and other beverages in a few ice buckets around the house so guests can grab them conveniently instead of crowding up the kitchen.

The Decorations
Team spirit is everything! Start off with sending out some festive invitations such as DIY tickets and have them bring them to your house to get in like a real game. Buy a few banners and streamers that match your team colors, and put out a tailgate toss (cornhole) in the backyard.

The Kids
Kids are kids, and their attention span will most likely not last all 4 quarters. If you have a TV in the basement, start them off there. Make it their own area and provide a separate snack table with team colored table covers, balloons and print off football coloring pages. Find old football helmets and let them pretend to be their favorite all-star (perfect photo op, too)! If the weather allows, let them run around outside at half-time and give the younger ones soft foam footballs.

The Wardrobe
Lastly, who says football can’t be fashionable!? If you are actually attending the game, you will want to wear some sort of sneaker since you never know how much walking you’ll be doing. Sport your team’s jersey/colors and your most comfortable pair of jeans while attending a party.

Women’s: The BareTraps Rikita ankle booties come in black and brown and will go with any team color, while adding a little height to your laid-back game day look! They feature an inside zipper so you can get in and out of these boots quickly, a comfortable cushioned insole and a synthetic sole for durability. Add a vest or scarf if it’s super chilly getting to the party, but then easily take them off once you warm up.

Men’s: Take a break and toss the ball around during halftime while wearing the Reebok Zprint 3d running shoes. The 3D foot scan cushioning delivers optimal cushioned comfort and the dual-density midsole foam promotes a flexible, responsive ride. If it’s warm outside, flip flops and boat shoes are acceptable to wear with a jersey.

Kid’s: Style, functionality and comfort are all found in the Roxy Cassy boot for girls.  Made with faux fur lining for game days that are a bit chilly this fall, a synthetic upper with a fabric back and two adjustable straps, she will be kept secure and stylish and she runs around outside or cozies up on the couch. He’ll want to be like his favorite player and show off his speed in the New Balance Ka 680 running shoes. Designed with a synthetic upper, these shoes have a cool and classic look. Heel cushioning and support from the abzorb will keep him comfortable and safe as he cheers all day long.

Football parties are exciting and easy to throw, but make sure you have enough seating for all your guests, plenty of food and beverages and a TV that can be seen by all. Don’t be afraid to ask your guests to bring some extra chairs or a dish/dessert to pass around!
