Fitting your Kids with Winter Boots!

With cold and snowy weather on the way, it is now time to get the kids ready to get outside and play! I'm sure many parents have asked themselves when buying boots for their child if they fit right or if they will be able to fit for the entire season. Well, below are some pictures of what parents can do when they go in and buy a pair of new boots for their child.

One of the experts said that the best way to test to make sure that a boot is fitting properly on your child is to remove the inside liner of the boot if it has one.
Pull out liner of the Winter Boot
Once the liner is removed have your child slip on the liner and then make sure that there is a thumbs width of room in the boot. This will account for any growth during the season or if your child wears thicker socks when going out to play.
The boot should have a thumb width of room
Once you have felt how your child's feet feel with the liner out, put the liner in and have your child try the boot on again. This is the time to have your child walk and maybe even do a little test run in them. This will ensure that your child's foot isn't going to be slipping around and make them unstable when walking or running.
Have your child do a walk/run test in the new boots
Finally, if you decided to go with a boot that does not have a removable liner. Your will still want to do a walk/ run test with the boots and then you will still test to see if their is a thumbs width of room at the front of the boot.

Don't forget to always remember to get waterproof protection for your boots. This will ensure that your new boots won't get ruined by any slush or snow. The protection will also help with salt stains from the streets and sidewalks being salted.
